FAQs
Boiler installation: your questions
How long does a new boiler installation take?
A straight swap of a combi for a combi in the same place usually takes one day. Converting from a regular or system boiler to a combi, or moving the boiler, normally takes two days. We'll tell you at the survey.
Do I need a combi, system or regular boiler?
It depends on how many bathrooms you have, how much hot water you use at once, and your water pressure. Combis suit most homes with one bathroom. Bigger households often do better with a system boiler and a cylinder. We explain the options at the free survey.
Will I be without heating and hot water?
Only for the day of the install on a straight swap. We turn things off in the morning and aim to have you back on by late afternoon. On two-day jobs we'll plan it so you're not left cold overnight where we can.
Can I spread the cost?
Many installers offer finance through a third-party lender, subject to status. Ask us at the survey and we'll talk you through what's available. There's never any pressure to use it.
What guarantee do I get?
Manufacturer guarantees vary by boiler model and are often longer when an accredited installer fits and registers the boiler. We offer up to 10 years on selected models, and we register the guarantee for you. It usually needs an annual service to stay valid.
Do you take the old boiler away?
Yes. We remove and dispose of the old boiler, and any old tanks or cylinder if you're switching to a combi. It's included in the price.
